Why did Jesus call John the Baptist “the greatest among those born of women”?
This is a very profound question. The reason Jesus said about John the Baptist, “Among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist” (Matthew 11:11), contains a very important and deep spiritual meaning. God the Father appointed John the Baptist as the representative of mankind and commanded him to baptize Jesus Himself. The reason is that John the Baptist was the one appointed so that Jesus would be used in fulfilling all the righteousness of God (Matthew 11:11).
