After the Korean War (the 6.25 Incident), there was a time when many young children in Korea were sent for adoption to other countries. When the Korean War began, UN forces entered Korea and helped, but after they left, it is said that only fatherless children were left behind. This was because most of the UN soldiers who had stayed in Korea had local women as partners and even had children with them, but once the war ended, they left everything behind and returned to their own countries.
The children who were left behind in this way were eventually abandoned again by their mothers and sent to orphanages, and from there, were adopted into many countries around the world. It is truly something to be thankful for that people from various countries adopted these young lives and raised them well.
